Development Control

The FCT department that approves building plans and enforces planning rules.

Development Control reviews and approves building plans, inspects construction and acts against buildings that break planning rules, from unapproved extensions to structures on green areas or road reserves.

Before buying a built property, check that it has Building plan approval and that nothing on site goes beyond what was approved.

General information about property in the FCT, not legal or tax advice. Rules, fees and processes change, so confirm the current position with AGIS, a lawyer or our team before you act.
