The six local government areas of the FCT.
The FCT is divided into six area councils: Abuja Municipal (AMAC), Bwari, Gwagwalada, Kuje, Kwali and Abaji. They run local services and, in some areas, issue land documents of their own.
Area council papers are not the same as an FCT statutory title. If a plot is offered with council documents, find out whether it can be regularised with AGIS before you buy.
