Visiting the property to check its condition, location and boundaries before you commit.
An inspection is your chance to confirm the property exists, matches the listing and suits you. For land, it means locating the plot and its beacons. For buildings, it means checking structure, finishes, water, power and drainage.
Some agents charge an inspection fee. Ask before you go.
What to check
- Visit in daylight and, if you can, after heavy rain to see drainage.
- Check road access and how far finished infrastructure reaches.
- For buildings, look for cracks, damp and roof leaks.
